I have a thinkpad r30. The problem is that I cannot find a way to change the amount of memory being used by the graphics card. I have tried bios, and the normal display settings in windows. Anyone know what I can do?

Sorry to have to tell you this, but the amont of memory shared with the video subsystem cannot be changed on this or any earlier IBM/Lenovo laptop. Perhaps one of the more recent models might allow this, but no (older) laptop by IBM/Lenovo seems to have this. I have a TP 600E and an R30, T23, T43, T61P and Z60t (I'm a collector). None of these appear to allow this parameter to be changed.

Actually, come to think of it, i know of no laptop older than 5 years which lets you change this.
