hi!!

Every time when i try to reintall xp, for some reasons the dvd-rm will not boot up but i set it to primary already and if i try to boot up with my cd-burner it won't work as well....However, after a few try, i can boot up with my cd-writer....Does anyone know why>???is it cuz my motherboard jumper setting????
i have lite-on dvd and lite-on cd writer

I do not have this kind of problem when i install 2000/me???

Well as you have not had this problem in 2k or ME then we can safely assume its a XP problem... have you updated to the service pack1 yet?

P.S. i personally have a LTD-165H 16x burner and a 48x24x48x liteon cd-rw. They have been master and slave respectively with no problems.

EDIT: The dvd should be jumpered as master on the end of the cable. The cd-rw should be jumpered as slave in the middle of the cable.

Hmmms. Have you tried booting up with just one device attached to the cable? Do you still get drive detection problems?
