Just got fellow of the ring, extended version on dvd. Slid it into my dvd rom on my comp. Opened powerdvd xp 4.0, and apparently it cannot read the format. I am curious if this is some sort of protection that does not let you view it on a pc or if it's just my hardware/software or if it's the dvd. I am using an LG 8160B DVD rom.

The regular edition FOTR DVD runs fine on the two comps I've seen. Don't know about the extended edition though :frown: .

Here on the official site you can see that they mention DVD-ROM content as having "access to exclusive online features", which makes it sound like the DVD should be playable on the PC. I wanted to check myself since I was wanting to buy this too.

I have the extended edition and it works just fine, but I have a DVD reader only and not a writer.
