Hello,

I'm having a go at building my first computer so would appreciate some advice. Here is my current line up.

Asus M5A99X EVO AMD 990X (Socket AM3+) Motherboard

£89.15

AMD Quad Core Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz £73.32

MSI AMD Radeon HD 6850 Cyclone OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe £104.16

Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP 12x Blu-Ray Combo Drive £41.65

G.Skill Ripjaws-X 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
£37.49

Western Digital Caviar Green Power 1TB 64MB Cache Hard Disk Drive SATAII 300MB/s <8.9ms £36.65

Xigmatek MidGard Midi Tower - Black - No PSU
£44.16

Coolermaster Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler
16 in stock
£14.16

Novatech 300Mbps 802.11n Wireless PCI Adapter
£14.16

Novatech PowerStation Black Edition 750W Silent ATX2 Modular Power Supply
£54.15

All prices are before VAT@20%

I just want to know if everything will work together and if anything that could be changed without lowering performance.

I'm hoping to upgrade further in around a year.

I have been having a look around for prices

the HDD now changed to WD 1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Caviar Blue Hard Drive - 7200RPM 32MB Cache

Total including VAT around £610 all delivered. I still need cables ect but not sure what ones I will need so no estimate on the price. Plus I will need Windows 7 so another £70 for that.

I dont know if I'm over killing the power suppy any opinions?

The PSU might be a little large, but its useful to have some headroom if you want to overclock in future or change your spec.

Not sure about using the novatech branded psu - I have no idea about their reputation. I would personally always go for a respected brand - it may cost a few more pounds, but they are more reliable. Its your call.

I'm not right up to date with PC specs at present, so will pass on commenting, but maybe someone else might come in once this gets bumped.

It might be useful to say what you intend to use the PC for - gaming, video editing, whatever.
