More Information

When I put a CD in, my Windows XP machine completely locks up for about 30-40 seconds. The disc spins and all, but it doesn't seem to be reading it or anything. After the long hang/lockup, I can access the CD-ROM fine and all. I don't remember it doing this under Windows 2000/ME. My CD-RW drive works great. Any ideas?

Model: LG CRD-8483B
I have the latest VIA 4n1 drivers.. have an MSI MS-6330 motherboard with the VIA KT133 chipset.
