Hi,
I'm recently planning to buy an external CD-RW for my new notebook with P4 2.0 GHz CPU, 256 DDR SDRAM and 8X DVD. However, I have no idea about which brand or what speed is suitable for it. I've heard that Plextor and TDK are good, aren't they? I'm also considered to buy a slim CD-RW. Is there a big difference in performance between it and a regular external drive? Thanks.

Plextor CDRW are great. I brought a PlexWriter 8/8/24U for my laptop half a years ago and it work prefectly.
