Anyone have any luck making the T90 Toroidal dish work? I'm about to throw
it off a cliff!!

Yeah, have had mine about 2 years, works great. I moved it a month
ago and had a time getting it re-positioned -- i'd forgotten the
method (took it apart to clean and replace rusted bolts).

Finally i remembered the way i got it to work first off:
Position the lnb's like your specs say for your area.
(not on the curved arm, position them on those black
holders according to the numbers you recieve, ....L7, R20,
etc.)
Put one lnb on the arm, slide it back and forth (side to side)
until you get the optimum signal. (the correct satellite
signal). Mark the area with a pen or whatnot. Remove.
Do the next one (for the next signal) same way, mark, go to
the next, etc.
When you have them all positioned correctly, put them all
back on and turn on your equipment there at the dish, fine
tune all.

The biggest problem i had was only ONE lnb would read on my receiver
until i had the two for the receiver set (per receiver, or
however many your receiver uses). IE: after you have BOTH
set correctly (one at a time in the beginning), then the
receiver will recognize both. (Connecting both to my receiver
i could only get one sat to be recognized, no matter
where i turned the lnb.)

Resist the cliff. There seems to be a knack to getting these to work,
and once you find the knack, write it down; took me an
hour of fiddling until i remembered my original setup
problems and work-around.

Thanks Rik...there is hope! I like the concept, but it's quite a battle.
I'm able to get 80 on the signal, but can never get beyond 0 on the quality.
Very frustrating, but I'm sure it will be worth it if I don't lose my few
remaining hairs
I'm on the verge of spending big bucks on a spectrum analyzer to make it
easier. I'm amazed that there are no "professional" installers who do
anything more than aim with a compass!

Strong signal but no quality -- i had that too.
Thats fine tuning the dish, if i remember.
Just a hair's movement of the up-and-down
will pull in the quality reading.

Well..it turns out that the coordinates that Wave Frontier sent me were
totally wrong by as much as 10 degrees. I had someone come in today with
some serious test equipment and it took 6 hours to finally get it all
figured out! It's working fine now, except for T6 (IA6) which of course, is
the one bird I really want. It's possible that it needs a reverse lnb, but
it would be the only one. Quite frustrating, and the Wave Frontier people
have an extremely bad attitude. It's basically a brilliant idea, but they
need to get their customer service figured out. Overall, I wouldn't
recommend this thing to anyone.

Rik or anybody else who may have an answer to this question:

Would Wave Frontier Toroidal Dish T90 pick up the following two satellites: Telestar 5 and Galaxy 3 (they have only 2 degrees spacing).

Does the minimal spacing have to be 3 degrees for T90?
