I presently have a 76 cm dish with linear LNB. I ordered Pansat 2500
and would like to replace the present Universal LNB (which has a round
body that is clamped between two semicircles) with a Dual Dish LNB,
which has an entirely different method of mounting. Will I have to
fabricate my own bracket or is there a place I an order an adapter to
allow using the new LNB with the old dish arm?

Thanks.

The commonly used fix, is a piece of rubber hose wrapped around the neck of
the Dual Dish LNB.
Simply slit the hose down one side , snap it on the LNB and clamp in place.
Works great good, luck my friend.

Sorry: You'll have to use a Dave LNB. Your right the dish won't work . But
there's plenty of Dave LNB`s around, shouldn't have any trouble finding one
cheap.
and they do work for receiving Dish.

Forget the Dish LNB. Instead, use 3 DTV LNBs like the Gain Master:

http://www.solidsignal.com/prod_di [...] CGAINCOMBO

Specifically, study they're LNB mounting strategy shown in:

http://www.solidsignal.com/manuals [...] ntenna.pdf

If your dish can't skew, then you'll need a slightly different system to
account for skew. You'll need to be able to rotate the 3 LNBs in a line.
However, it might work better if you construct a skew mount for your dish.
If your dish is on a polar mount (like with a motor), then you don't need
to worry about skew.

Remove the gray plastic cover from the dishnet LNBF and you will find
it will fit real good with some tape or hose to make it a bit bigger.

Well, it won' t work, as the problem with the Dish LNB, as the
bracket that came with the dish is designed for a 1.5" diameter
circular throat LNB, whereas the Dish LNB has dimensions of
1 3/8" x 2 1/2". If I mounted it atop the bracket the dish focal
point would miss the LNB window by about 2 inches or so.

You wouldn't know of a LNB that has a 1.5" circular throat that would
work with the circular polarized sats? That would be the easiest way
to go.

THanks,

Hello Zoyburg;

Well, I already have a Horizon to Horizon mount on the dish, so would
not need the multiple LNB's. I guess what I need is a LNB with the
standard 1.5" circular throat that would receive the circular
polarized signals and work with a Pansat 2500A. Does anyone make such
an animal?

I also read somewhere that you can use a Universal LNB in place of the
circular polarized one with a corresponding 3 db decrease in signal
strength, have you ever tried this? The dish is 76 Cm dish so
perhaps there would be enough signal to overcome the polarization
loss??

Otherwise, I could try to fabricate a bracket out of wood that would
put the focal point of the Dish LNB at the dish focal point, but that
would not be easy for me to do.

Thanks

Zoyburg;

That site you sent has the type of LNB I'm looking for. It seems
Channel Master makes a throat mount LNB, I'll order one right away and
that will solve the problem. It should mount directly in place of the
old Universal LNB.

Thanks for your help. I had searched the web looking for just such an
animal but missed it completely. THanks again,

Jim

Thanks Kryppy I'll give it a try. I also located on Internet an ACER
SF2 D3 model that apparently is exact same size as the regular
Universal LNB.
