Yes. I've ordered online without speaking to anyone, and I've called and
spoken with very nice people. Both those transactions were handled well and
prices were/are competitive. Since I live within 500 miles of
Dave's(Ft.Smith, Arkansas), shipping by UPS or FedEx ground(I don't
remember)is cheap. No eBay shipping gouges that offset any savings on the
purchased item. I recommend Dave's to any and all.

Bought a cheap C-band LNB a few months ago. Good service, good price (good
LNB). I would definitely buy again from them.

Some vendors sell their wares for unrealistically low prices, and make
their money with high fixed shipping rates.

Just browse eBay listings. When you look at many of the items offered,
the shipping costs that are quoted are generally well in excess of the
actual UPS or FedEx ground rates. I'll assume that's because they don't know
who or where the auction winner will be, so they price shipping arbitrarily
high in order to assure they don't lose money. Those auctions that state
shipping will be determined after the winner is known may fail to "lock in"
shipping costs, but it's more fair and accurate to calculate shipping after
the sale. Sale price and shipping costs should be separate issues. Remember
that if you know where points A & B are, then you can confirm shipping rates
and see whether you're being gouged. Too many sellers on eBay; especially
those who are making a living at it; use shipping costs to pad their
profits.

I understand that they are required to pay Ebay a percentage of the sale
price, but what they make by inflating shipping costs goes directly into
the pocket of the seller. That means that anytime you see someone with
inflated shipping costs, they are trying to cheat Ebay. Any seller who
engages this practice will probably also cheat the buyer if they can
figure out a way to do it and stay in business.

Consider it as a type of "Red Flag", and be glad that it is there.

If they say calculated after shipping, don't bid. I just bought a scanner
that weighed 3.5lbs and because the guy had 100% good feedback, I took a
chance. The shipping was $20. When I sell I always say in my auction. Actual
shipping charges, any way you want to ship. Plus $1.50 packing. They have my
zip code so they can look it up on UPS or USPS.

We've bought from them 3 times now.
Fast.
Friendly.
Reasonable prices.
Highly recommended.

Had a queston on this last purchase and sent them an e-mail. Got a resposnse
back from Dave, the same day.

The first couple of shipments they sent us were marked "PERISHABLE".
There was nothing perishable in the box, but it sure speeded up delivery!
