Does the IR port on the back of this receiver work? The manual says
"future use".

If it is functional, is it input or output? I will be mounting the
receiver remotely from the TV and it would be nice if I could just plug
in a remote IR receiver into this port so I could still control it by
pointing at the TV.

Thanks for any advice.
