the games i usually play are very CPU demanding like Skyrim with massive amount of mods, tera max with lots of players, elder scrolls online. resolution 1920x1080 and graphic card might be a gtx 670 unless its not enough. Thanks in advance.

More about : 3930k 3770k gaming

I would recommend i5-3570k, and overclock it. Most CPU intensive games still run off only a few threads, so hyperthreading doesn't give you as much of an upgrade as the graphics card. What mods do you run in Skyrim? If you have a lot of graphics mods, then you'll have trouble even with the gtx 670 so I would recommend upgrading that to 7970 GHz.

I agree with ray. Better off spending more on the GPU then the CPU. There's no huge difference between the i5-3570K, i7-3770K, and the i7-3930K when it comes to gaming.

I would recommend Core i5 3570K. With plenty of performance, top notch overclocking capability and enough horsepower to run any game you throw at it, the choice is a no brainer.
Why not the i7 3770K you may ask? Well the i7 3770K merely adds Hyper-Threading and a higher clock speed to the equation. Though these two improvements are fantastic in CPU intensive tasks such as video encoding and 3D modeling, in gaming scenarios it doesn’t really do a whole lot. Games these days are much more graphics intensive than CPU intensive, so it’s a much better idea to invest the extra dough into the graphics card.

That said, those of you out there looking to do live streaming or other tasks which require any sort of video encoding, feel free to pick up an Intel Core i7 3770K instead.

I agree with the others. I have both a 3930k and a 3770k, and both are overkill for gaming.
A 3570k will serve you just fine, and the extra money would be better spent toward a stronger GPU (either a 7970 or 680).

GTX 670 not enough???  you get 90 FPS with triple monitor and 130 FPS with 1920x1080 its very enough!!
about the cpu neither 3930k nor 3770k!an i5 3570k is very enough and unlocked for oc!
3930k and 3770k just for gaming would pretty be a waste!
