Do people still share recorded shows back and forth on this newsgroup? I
missed tonight's Letterman show due to the cable going out during a storm.
What info do I need to give from my Replay TV 5040 for someone to send me
tonight's show? I would really appreciate it if it's not too much trouble,
thanks.

It will probably be on again in about 3 weeks. I have it on a 4608 but
I don't think we can swap.

First go to http://www.poopli.com/

And register your 5040 there, You will get some instrucitons, You will
need to get your router to pass the proper ports to the replay (a simple
task once you have done it) and you will need to make sure your replay
has an assigned "network" name in addition to it's regular name. Again,
all the instructions are there. Then you run follow the link on the
Poopli members page to make sure they can contact your replay.

Then post a message advising you are new to poopli and wish to receive
the show... It is very likely a member there will contact you and send
you a very short video clip (about 30 seconds or so) to veryiy your
system can receive. Then you are good to go, Everything you need to
know is either on that site or linked from that site

When requesting a show, you'd need to give the Internet ID of your
Replay. This can be obtained from the "System Information" part of
your setup menu. It will be a 15-digit number written in 3 parts. The
first part will probably be:

00004-

Also, it's a good idea to give the internet name of the Replay. This
allows senders to verify they got your machine.

First check your TV schedule. It might be on again.

I tried to sign up at poopli a few days ago, but have not received the
reply e-mail to confirm my account. I tried sending an e-mail to
contact@poopli.com, but still have not received a reply.
