Forum Wireless Networking : Range & Connectivity Wireless connectivity issue

Hello,

One of my laptops randomly loses connection and often cannot reconnect to the router for a while. This laptop is brand new. This happens both on the internal wireless n card and the external usb n adapter.

The laptop is 1.5 meters from the router. Another laptop is around 1 meter away from the router in a different direction and has a stable connection at 150mbps.

Both laptops are in the same room as the router.

I have a desktop computer upstairs with a wireless n card in which can connect around 270mbps. I can also get a good connection on smart phones upstairs.

I have tried updating drivers on both devices. When the disconnect occurs, I try disabling all wireless devices and then enabling them one by one, and they still wont connect.

I cant work out if something may be causing interference. The laptop is on a glass desk. There is a desktop computer under the desk and an LCD monitor next to the desk. There is a fridge in another room around 1meter away from the laptop. There are no cordless phones operating in the house. I'm using an uncongested wireless channel.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
