Westell 327W Problems

Hi I'm having problems with my westell 327W router(provided by Hawaiian Telecom). I tried calling tech support but it's a nightmare I've waited 30 minutes+ once just to get hung up on. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow as tech support is closed right now. The problem is my connection speed to the internet for the past 2-3 weeks It's been very slow. When I check my routers Static IP(think that's what its called) I see the Connection Overview and my speed's are 1792 Kbits/sec by 448 Kbits/sec. Before my internet was at thees slower speeds I would get an average of 7800Kbits/sec and 1500Kbits/sec. I have not changed my plan and I was wondering if maybe it was a problem that I could fix on my own maybe if it's a DSL Filter,Phone line, Router settings.
