Where do i plug my direct line into the router?

I I have been using a router a friend set up, for my PS3 and labtop. They worked perfectly fine until i unplugged my cable/cords from the router. Do I plug the direct line to WAN? Help please! Says ethernet cord not detected.

Line from cable modem goes into router's WAN port. Everything else goes out the number ports to your devices.
