Printing locally while on VPN

Forum General Networking : General Discussion Printing locally while on VPN

Word :    Username :

Hello all,
Not sure if this is possible but here is what I would like to do. I need to be VPN'd in to work all day but during the day I need to print to my home network printer. The work around has always been to press print then disconnnect from VPN, wait for the document to finish then reconnect VPN. This is starting to get on my nerves and I was hoping that there was a way to be on VPN through my physical LAN and maybe print over my wireless network. Is there a way to separate traffic in Windows 7?

Thanks in advance.

Your VPN software must be set to allow local connections. That might be all that is needed.

However, your company might not allow the setting since it is considered by some to be a security risk.

Ya, I don't have access to open that up and security is important for my company;)

Ah well, I asked... Thanks for the response.
