heres one for all you network nuts...hopefully someone can solve my problem...

yesterday i opened up my internet browser to unusually long loading times. i had found that almost every single site i punched in to the address bar resulted in a time out. only a handful of sites like youtube, and another forum i frequent, loaded normally enough.

i had poured through the internet on another computer for possible solutions...none of which worked, obviously. so i tried connecting another computer in exactly the same place instead of my computer. it worked fine. i guess this meant that the problem is on my end, and on my ISP, right? well, long story short (its a REALLY long story), i decided to back up my personal files, and completely wipe the hard drive. i figured if it was a problem on my end, it must be software related, as i have never seen any kind of hardware issue that could cause such unusual behaviour. but after activating windows again, i found that i still had the exact same problem. i basically wasted 6 hours...6 hours which was meant to be my sleep time.

at this point, you can imagine im rather ticked off, right? thats a bit of an understatement, actually. anyway, so my software wasnt a problem. that leaves my hardware, but like i said, i have never seen bad hardware do something like this. if it was bad hardware, all my sites would be down, and/or i would be experiencing performance problems. speaking of which, my 30 mbit connection was obviously not anywhere near that speed, with obviously slower loading times. however, speedtest.net shows what i always had, even before this problem. about 30 mbits, and a 9ms ping. so as far as performance capabilities are concerned, there are no issues there.

i have also tried using three different DNS servers, as well as trying flushdns, and of course, trying different browsers. nope, nope, and nope.

oh, also, the ethernet cable plugs directly in to the wall...something typical in sweden...so no routers to configure or reset
