My housemates have been having a trouble with network coverage in my house, the router is located in the basement of my house, perfect for me as my room is also down there (Ethernet, thank you very much). Unfortunately my housemate in the attic room's signal seems to be a problem.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to remove one of my routers two antennas solder some copper wire to the spot it was removed, then have the wire go up to the 1st floor and re-solder the antenna up there (mount it on the wall or something). I'm confident with the practicalities of actually doing this, but I'm not that techie when it comes to electronics. I'm not sure whether it would need more power to boost it over such a distance.
Any input would appreciated, I would actually quite like to do this if its possible, nice little weekend project.
