Best non-wireless modem

hey i was wondering if anybody knows of a non wireless dsl modem that i can easily connect to a new router
it should have:
-gigabit ports, only one is fine
-dsl port, adsl2+ probably standard
i want to get a modem separate from my router because i would like to more easily upgrade the router in the
future since modems have not changed so much in the past and are usually cheaper than gateways but i was
wondering if a modem + router is any slower than a gateway

i would go for a new modem and 8port switch, some thing like a
