Hello, I have a computer hooked to comcast cable. I have a roomate moving in with her computer. She would also like to hook up to internet, but I don't know what to do. Or which way is better. I don't want to lose any internet speed on my computer. Can anyone please give me some suggestions?

Purchase a router and connect both computers to the router. As far as not losing speed... anytime you have more than 1 computer on a network you are sharing bandwidth. you won't lose much speed depending on what applications she has running. Her streaming netflix may cause issues. Both of you gaming at the same time won't slow you down much at all if even noticeable.
