Distant Remote site. Two routers ( .x.1.1 & .x.1.5). Two Internet connections. Both routers set with remote config ports (not 8080!). Each router passes the remote port of the other. One of the routers has a ping utility that will ping the LAN OK. I can not reach a router when it's WAN is down.
When one of the Internet connections is down I need to access LAN ports and that router (LAN side) thru/via the other router. Is there a url/command line/config to solve this problem?

I am 2000+ miles from the 'remote location'. The routers are about 15 feet from each other in the same building and are on the same LAN (ie: 10.10.1.x). They operate as a primary and backup/alternate gateway. I need to access ports on the LAN to change the gateway config of various clients on the LAN. For example... connect to 10.10.1.30:12345 via the working router/WAN to change the gateway of the client at port 12345.

if I understand this correctly, you have two internet connections one for each one.

have thought about investing in a Dual WAN router that does the fallback automatically?

you can still use the two routers as APs (Access Point)

If you question is how do you access the down router through the active router, then just do it from its internal IP address (you would have to be VPN'ed in to do so).
