Hi,

I have got a PIX 515e that is configured as a fail over device.

Is it possible to reconfigure it as a regular firewall -- I just want to tinker around
never tried PIXes before.

Any pointers to tinkering out with a PIX for fun.

Thanks.

Well configuring Cisco stuff always is! What I would do is just reset it back to the factory standards (http://www.petri.co.il/forums/showthread.php?t=9784) and then just start from scratch. Then you don't have to worry about any ghost settings popping up occasionally.

If you need help resetting it let me know and I can supply commands; however, if you Google it, the Cisco documentation should just walk you through a step by step process, unless you use TFTP or Kermit and then they leave you by yourself for those but I can still help.
