Laptop with windows 7

hiya all, once again.
I posed a question the other day about why my wireless system wouldnt allow my laptop, running windows 7, to access it.
Wello I found out why, with help from saga lout, my firewall is blocking access to home and work networks, apparently a default setting, now comes the second part, how do persuade my firewall to allow me to connect with my wireless network?
I,ve tries advance settings, but I can,t find anything about networks.
Any help, again, appreciated.

I am 70 and trying, in vain, it seems to keep up with technology, let alone typing.
