hello,
im just wondering what is best for getting low ping. usb vs pci wireless card?
I the only thing i care about is getting low ping between my comp and my router.
what would the difference be?
thinking of buying this: D-Link DWA-160 or an pci wireless.

You are likely to get a better signal with a PCI card with multiple antennas than a USB adapter with a built-in antenna, and that will equal a faster speed with less delay.

how much difference are we talking about with max 50 feet between router and computer?

I have the PCI wireless card in two desktops and USB wireless in two other desktops.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6833124342 (one is on i7 gaming computer 35 feet and 4 walls away).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6833124327 (on 2 Dell desktops 20 feet and 4 walls away).

The PCI card is superior and suitable for gaming purposes. For normal surfing and general computer use like word processing, emails, etc., the USB wireless will work fine.

In your case, with the computer being 50 feet away (and some walls) go with the Linksys WMP600N; great card! Simple setup.
