Linksys wrt54gl as access point

Forum Wireless Networking : Setup, Configuration & Security Linksys wrt54gl as access point

I am trying to wirelessly connect a host laptop to either an access point (router reconfigured) or just an electronic switch (10/100) to a minimum of two other laptops that do not have internet access (no wireless card). The host has the wireless card.

I am trying to use a Linksys wrt4gl as the access point, the laptops are all Windows XP Pro. I have tried to use Internet Connection Sharing but to no avail. Most common error is IP conflict. Is it possible to connect the Linksys router as an access point?

have you disabled the DHCP on the Linksys?

and change the last number of the LAN IP to .253
