Hi guys,

Long time reader, first time posting :)

Both of these switches are on NCIX this week for $139. Ive maxed out my current 8 port network switch and I'd like to buy another single solution (so I dont have to daisy chain) switch that will hopefully provide enough ports for the forseeable future in the house I live in.

So my question is what is the difference between these two switches and which one would you buy if you were me? I am pretty new to networking so I dont understand all the features of these two switches, nor am I sure if I will ever use all of the features of either one. I'm sure a 16 port switch will suffice, but with a 24 port I will likely never need to add another switch to my network ever again.... So which one is the better bang for the buck?

for this price get the 24 port one. it is a manageable switch

I had some heat issues with the 16 port model.

I bought the 24 port one. Thanks for your input emerald. I'm gonna have some learning to do to use it to its full potential.
