I have a network printer connected in a switch . I need to know , how can I connect this printer with computer. The computer is already connected with that switch with a straight cable. Please let me know how can I use this printer with my lan port

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Go to Control Panel>Printers and Faxes (XP) or Printers and Devices Vista and W7), click on Add a Printer then on Add a Network Printer. Let the system find it and have the CD ready to install the drivers.

If you know the IP address of printer, you can manually add the printer on same Add Printer Wizard, by selecting A Network printer option...

Just to clear up something I missed earlier, which type of cable did you use to connect the printer to the switch?
