how do I get my wi-fi working so that I can get my kindle fire on line - that is why I got wi-fi but am unable to figure out how to get the system working

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

You need the wireless security key to let the Kindle have access, and here's a link to the Sticky Post on this issue.
