Extend the range of a wireless network

Forum Wireless Networking : Range & Connectivity Extend the range of a wireless network

Hello,

I'm trying to extend the range of my wireless network from my house to my workshop, which is about 600 feet away. There are no trees or other objects in between the two buildings. Does anyone have any suggestion as to how I could boost my wireless signal to reach that far?

Thanks in advance!

Heres an outdoor directional panel antenna to give you an idea of where to start. http://www.amazon.com/Hawking-Dire [...] 030&sr=8-2

You could set one of those bad boys up and see how the clients can connect individually from the work shop.

If you really wanted to go to the next step you cold purchase a bridge and set up a second antenna at the workshop and have the two higain antennas connecting to each other and have the clients connect to the bridge.

Kind of depends on the set up of the clients at the workshop and the amount of money your looking to spend.

Note: The hawking panel gives you a few different connectors to use. Make sure the router or access point your using has these types of connectors for compatibility.
