Hello,

I bought a DWA-552 for my windows 7 64-bit machine. For the life of me I can't get it to work and says incompatible on the windows site.

I'd like a different adapter, compatible with window 7 64-bit that has no issues and large range. Please advise!

You will suffer a lower data rate with G compared to N. Although N typically has slightly better range then G for most adapters the alfa I mentioned is different because of the power it can use.

icecycle,

Alfa does make a b/g/n adapter and I can agree with skaz that it's one of, if not the best range extension usb adapter in the world. The only difficulty I've found with it is that sometimes the drivers aren't regularly updated so that the user interface leaves a little to be desired.

Anyway you can find a link to the Alfa's drivers page on this review of the Alfa adapter Skaz was talking about. You'll be able to see if there's a 64-bit driver for any of them.
