Hello,

I want to build a robust wireless network with the future in mind and was thinking of getting cisco E4200V2 router, WES610N entertainment bridge and RE1000 range extender. I am hoping to cut wires with this setup.

Applications will include video streaming, gaming, downloads, surfing and equipment monitoring. I have both g and n devices some of which cannot be upgraded to n.

Will this setup work with both g and n devices connecting to it? or is it a waste to go for n?

Thanks!

Yes they should be backwards compatible.

Thanks!

I was reading that when g devices connect to an n network, they bring down the speed...

Is this true and if yes, any way around it? Setup two networks one on g and the other on n?

Thanks!

I have 2 g devices on my n network and don't notice much of a change.
