It was working fine and suddenly quit working. When trying to print, get the printer not responding notice. When scanning, it shows disconnected.

If the printer is directory connected to Win7 machine, check the physical connectivity first (USB cable connection)
You can also disconnect and connect to be sure. and then reboot your Win7 machine.
If it still does not work, check the Printer Spool service on service manager. If it is stop start it.
