My phone can't get past my Netgear ADSL router

I have a Netgear WPN802 wireless access point connected to a Netgear DG834 ADSL router. Our Vaio laptop and my son's Nintendo DSiXL both connect (wirelessly) through the WPN802 to the DG834 and on to the internet.
We have two Sony Ericsson W995 mobile phones and a Samsung Galaxy GT-i5500. I can wirelessly access the DG834's settings with these devices, but can't get through to the internet.
Obviously they are set up correctly to use the WPN802, but I have no idea why they can't then get 'through' the DG834. It doesn't have access control active.
It could be my phone settings, of course, but those are mostly wireless settings, and that's clearly sorted.
Any ideas, hints, gladly received!
