Can I connect a second wireless router to a wireless modem/router?

Forum General Networking : Routers & Gateways Can I connect a second wireless router to a wireless modem/router?

I have AT&T DSL with a 2wire modem/router. I can't get a good wireless signal in the back of my house. I have a cat.5 cable from going from one of the outlet ports on the 2 wire modem/router to the area where the signal is weak which I plug directly into my laptop and it works well but I would prefer to have wireless back there for moving around etc. Can I connect another wireless router to this cat.5 cable to create a wireless network where the first modem doesn't reach?
Thank you
