WiFi Being difficult.

Forum Wireless Networking : Range & Connectivity WiFi Being difficult.

Hello.
I am at my sister's house.
She has Brighthouse Cable.
She has high speed internet, cable, phone.
It is an Ubee router.

The problem I am having is with connecting to the network.
The issue is, it doesn't show up.
I stood right next to it with my WiFi enabled and it did not pick up the signal.
I tried to manually put in the name of the network and it did not help.
The light on the modem labeled 'WiFi' is on.
But I am not picking up the name of the network.
There are no other problems.
The cable-fine, phone-fine, desktop hooked through a cable-fine.
I just cannot get the network.
I don't know what the problem is.
I have connected to it in the past easily, with no effort.

I know the password & all that.
The problem is just finding the initial network..

Please help!

What kind of wireless adapter are you trying to connect with? Try stepping further back (seriously). Is the SSID hidden and MAC filtering turned on?

Hello,

I work for Bright House Networks and can assist with this. Email me at BHNtechXpert@mybrighthouse.com or contact me through the forums here :) You can also try this, remove the battery from the Ubee and then unplug the power cable from the wall, reinstall the battery and apply power and your wifi ssid should then appear.

I just have to chime in here about Bright House Networks...

Way to go. :) +10 points X 10

I looked your company up and see it is not a huge multi-national corporation. This must be why you jumped right in offering to help. This service is nearly unheard of anymore, anywhere.

If your company ever expands, make sure it comes to Venezuela and services the Miranda State area south of Caracas, near Simón Bolívar University. I'll subscribe in a heartbeat.
