Wireless connect to router keeps failing

I have an HP dv8 Pavillion entertainment laptop. Recently, the Wireless Assistant icon (blue, when connected, red, when not) has begun turning red and disconnecting me. I press on the icon and it turns blue, sayd Wireless ON, but, in as many times as 5 times per minute, will turn back red and say Wireless OFF, with a redX. I have restarted...and it helps...sometimes! *lol....there is no rhyme or reason to it...sometimes once a day, sometimes once every 15 seconds...driving me crazy.

Any ideas?
