I'm continually getting PC freezes on my new PC. I put it together myself. Here are the specs:
-nvigian asus geforce gtx 660
-asrock Z77 extreme4
-T28 midi ATX PC CASE (Sharkoon)
- g skill sniper 2x 4GB RAM sticks
-thermaltake smart m550 w PSU
I downloaded drivers for all my stuff and installed drivers with the CD that came with my motherboard. I got random freezes right off the bat. It occurs every few hours. At random it seems. I noticed that my clock kept resetting at one point. I don't know if it was that way from the beginning but I noticed it two days ago. So the cmos battery was the culprit I thought. I bought a new 3v battery and replaced it on the motherboard and now the clock does stay the same and does not reset itself all the time. The freezing reoccurred though. It happened while I was playing Starcraft 2. I have gotten many freezes while gaming but I have also gotten freezes while not playing. It froze several times doing regular stuff and I got error messages. BSODs. Two of them. I did not write down the error message it once displayed though... if it occurs again I will note it on a piece of paper. Another time it gave a BSOD and it read something like: Hardware malfunction. System halted.
Thanks in advance, for any help! I don't know what to do at this point, except for waiting until it maybe freezes again and gives me a BSOD with an error code.
By the way, I'm not sure if I posted this in the right category or not. Sorry if I posted in wrong section.
