Do you have a good Ethernet connection? In other words, do the lights next to the cable light up?
What OS in on this computer?
Is the computer new, or did you move it from somewhere else where is worked fine?
Does your network use DHCP assigned IP addressees or static?
Does your router restrict Internet access to certain computers?
