The sims 2 registration

Hello,
I bought the sims2 double deluxe at walmart. i have windows 7 it downlaoded fine but when it says register now i click yes but says the web[age cant be found...so i go to ea.com and sign up and tried to register the game, there is no way to actually register the game with code so i try the other way it says to go to the program files and find the ereg.exe in the support folder....and since i have an ea account i should be able to log into thesims2.com but i cant...any help please???? ive been up allllll night trying to figure this out!!!
