hello friends

today i installed an ssd into my dell 435t. windows has installed no problem. i am keeping the old HD in the system, and currently it has all of the old information on it.

is there a way to simply migrate all of the information from the old HD to the new SSD?

i plan to knock out the partitions and reformat the old drive when i am satisfied.

can it be simple as borrowing a restore point from the old disK?

thank you for your time.

Hi :)

Did you run the Transfer Wizard on your old HD first ? and what operating system was it running ?

All the best Brett :)

thank you for your response.

i have the same manufacturer issued OS (windows 7 home premium) on both drives at the moment.

another idea; if i change the boot sequence, it should boot using the old drive, since i haven't changed anything at all on it. then i can try the transfer wizard? perhaps?
