My desk top changed by itself and when I am online the screen goes to black every few minutes even though I am sure I disabled the sreensaver.

My anti virus icon also disappeared from the website.

How do I fix all this? Is it a virus?

That's pretty odd...

First off I would reset your windows theme:

Right click on desktop
go personalize
set theme as windows default...

See if that makes a difference.. if not complete all windows updates ( including optional updates)
Check that the version of windows is activated...

Then complete tom's virus/malware scan:
