I am going to give you as much detail about the problem as I can.
This has been happening for a couple months now, but I thought it would be time to adress the situation since it does not feel like going away. In my household, we have 1 Mac and 3 Desktops. One of the desktops in the family room has the Router (Linksys WRTG54G) and the Modem (Do not know model at this time, and every so often me and my brother (other two desktops) disconnect our wireless connection just drops instantly. My Wireless card in my desktop D-Link DWA 556. If you need any more information please ask!
Do you use a bittorrent or other file sharing programs? They can overload routers and cause the disconnecting you see.
In this order:
Wireless signal strength from router
-check distance (that card is mediocre, I have 2 and they both dont get good range)
-check antenna orientation (straight up or straight down only for most distance)
-position router in a better place
Interference from other 2.4 ghz stuff like phones
If you would like to take on a challenge, read up on a firmware series for the router you have by a group called DD-WRT. It will make that router perform a lot better. You can increase signal strength up to 10x what the linksys firmware will do. Also, you can schedule the router to restart daily, that helps with the disconnects.

Is there a way that the problem might be the wireless card?
And If i can be, is this a different one that is better?

That's the one with 3 Antennas right?
Make sure the orientation of those antennas does not cancel itself firstly. Check the manual for types of orientation.
Secondly go to the device properties in the device manager and disable the power settings, namely, allow computer to shut off device to ave power.
Thirdly, you can mess around with a few other properties in the same device manager as to increase and decrease the power of the Antennas, policy (aggressive/normal) , connectivity speed (Link Negotiation) etc etc.
