I changed my boot screen and now I would like to restore it back to the
original boot screen, what are my options, without reinstalling Windows?

I did this and the screen still shows the image.

I added /noguiboot and the boot.ini file and the XP boot screen is turned
off, but right after the boot screen process the image shows, there must be
another setting for images to appear after the XP boot screen?

I have figured out how to restore Windows XP boot screen no matter the problem without restoring anything (other than the screen its self), reinstalling Windows, or anything too complicated. Anyone reading this, and need help shoot me a line and ill walk you through it. Jacob badazznumber1 at Ya dot c o m

Your email is incorrect I have tried to contact you with 5 different variants but with no success could you please post your findings here please or correct your email?

I have the opposite my boot screen won't change from default XP no matter what I do. If I select nobootgui from msconfig it still appears. I have edited ntoskrnl & boot.ini but to no avail. I have installed tuKernel and tried that but nothing changes the boot screeen from default XP. It is doing my head in. Any help gratefully received.

boot.ini:

[boot loader]timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
timeout=3
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional"

OK Now I am really confused. I have removed all instances of Ntoskrnl.exe except the one in system32. I renamed that as ntoskrnl.bak as well as tukernel.exe to .bak. I rebooted and guess what it still booted!?!!? So obviously it is not using the standard ntoskrnl or TUKErnel. So my question is what else could it be using? Considering that I have removed all other instances of ntoskrnl off the C: drive onto a USB and removed the USB.
Any ideas?
