Forum General UK & Ireland Discussions : Are most of the members here from the UK & Ireland?

Word :    Username :

I've been using this website for a number of years, and never really knew it was UK & Ireland based. Is the majority of people on the forums from the UK and Ireland? Normally I would notice by the pound symbol and stuff like that, but it seems like most people on these forums are in the USA, or am I completely off my rocker?

I'd be quite interested in the % split.

I doubt UK & Ireland are in the majority given how many forum bugs there seem to be when you access via .co.uk or .com.

I think there seems to be a good mix of UK/USA.

One more Brit here, proudly declaring his nationality. :D

Allegedly, the UK Forum problems - including the lack of badges, etc. are to be fixed in the near future as part of a top-down re-write of the site. We can only hope. It would be helpful if we could see posters' locations before recommending products which are available here with UK £ prices, or when trying to fix DSL issues, some of which are unique to the UK.

It's weird, because I've checked out this forum for a number of years, never had any idea it was UK/Ireland based. I've been on various video game forums, and known pretty quickly that they were based in the UK, but normally it was a give-away because it would have people's locations, and whenever people were talking about how much something costs, you'd always see the pound symbols instead of $.

But it's all gravy. I love the Brits, good people as far as I'm concerned and I'm 1/4th Irish, so it's all gravy in regards to Ireland as well. I'm glad you guys let us yanks onto here without too much trouble, or too many lazy American or fat American jokes, lol.

It's not UK based as far as I'm aware but there is a UK site and sites for many other countries as well. The Forum main page has a bunch of national flags at the top right - you just need to click the triangle to see any other than the SSB.

Being 1/4 Irish means you owe the European Union a quarter of eighty billion Euros. Make the cheque out to me and I promise to pas it on. :D

This site is now owned by Best of Media which I do believe is based in France but the main HQ for THG is based in the U.S the UK site is a mirror of the U.S site with a couple of added sections.

Yup, BoM are indeed based in France. Still maintain that they were one of the worst things that has happened to Toms in many years. This stupid bloody badge mentality erks me. The UK site has had issues for years, even back when freddie was looking after it. For some reason the colonials still hold a grudge against their tea drinking masters it seems.

As to the original question you only get to see this section if you go to the .co.uk site so I'd guess that you'll struggle to find anybody not from the UK in this particular section. As for seeing where someone is from you'll find many people list their location if you just click to view their profile.
