Lost operating system

Hello,

I had a blue screen of death whilst gaming the other night. It said something about a critical error and physical memory. I let it try to fix itself and it said it was dumping software. When it rebooted all I get is an acer splash screen with the option to press f2 to go into bios and then a message informing that no operating system is found! If anyone could tell me how I can resolve this I would be eternally grateful. Many thanks

It's more likely the BIOS can't see the hard disk and the system is alive and mostly well in there, if only we could find it. BIOS won't normally show that message if you're trying to get into it so it was probably going to display that anyway. Tap F2 again and once in BIOS, see if the hard disk is present.

The fix for this will depend on the Operating System, (usually a version of Windows) you were running and it's best to report your post to the Moderators and ask them to move your thread to whichever sub-Forum in the Operating Systems section applies to your system.
