I was just looking at new nvidia Kepler cards and I was wondering if there will be any problems running those new 6xx-series cards on PCI-E 2.0 as they are made for 3.0. I have read some articles and stuff and I am pretty confident that there is no problem but just wanted a confirmation :P

As far as I know those cards wont exceed the 16GB/s bandwidth maximum that is maximum for 2.0 afaik. But would there be any other problems?

and the mobo I have is Asus P8P67 Deluxe :P

I already know, that it works, but the question was will there be any problems with it such as memory bandwidth is not enough or something.

I do know that I can put 5 horse power motor on a car but the car won't go very fast.

I believe that a pci-e 3.0 card will not saturate the bus completely. There have been tests that have been discussed here on this board. I cant recall them exactly but the general jist is that 3.0 isnt much different than 2.0 right now.

I do believe that you will not get true PCI 3.0 performance until the Ivy Bridge cpu comes out anyway which will then be 32x instead of 16x.
