Hi. I am looking to upgrade my graphics card in my PC. Here are my specs:
HP Compaq 6005 Pro Microtower
Win 7 Pro (32 Bit)
AMD Athlon II x2 215 Processor, 2.7 GHz
4096MB RAM
Power Supply: 320W
Card: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290
Display Mode: 18680 x 1050 (32 Bit)
I want to get something that will make my games run faster. I do plan to also upgrade the RAM at some point, it can hold up to 16GB. My budget is really anything from 100-200 bucks as long as it will be ok with the PCI slot and the power supply. I don't have to stick with NVIDIA either. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
A New System Isnt Neccessary, Im Sure With That Board Any 95 Watt Quad-Core Or Even Hex-Core Would Work, RAM Is Dirt Cheap, And Yes A New PSU Is In Order.
Any Decent AMD Or Nvidia Card That Wouldnt Overwelm The CPU Would Be A Big Upgrade (Think 4950, 5850, GTX460SE, 460, 560)
As Much RAM As You Can Afford/Fit Since Ram Is Dirt Cheap
And A Better PSU
Problem Solved
And Hey, Ill Take That Quadro If Your Interested In Getting Rid Of It!

Well, thanks to HP it looks like I can't really replace the power supply anyway... The best card I can get is the ATI Radeon HD 4650 (1 GB DH) PCIe x16 Graphics Card.

actually no, the most powerful card you can get without upgrading the PSU is a HD6670.
and why cant you change PSU anyways?
is it because of the small form factor or are you worried about warranty ?

I'm going to purchase the 6670 this afternoon. The reasons I can't replace the PSU is because HP has a jacked up case, and too many independent power cords running to various parts of the pc that I cannot replace with a new PSU...
