Hi Forum,

currently have corsair 850W with 7970 and i7-950 (check my rig in my signature).

Would crossfire go over the 850W limit (if i leave 7970's both at stock with modest OC on CPU (3.5-3.8).

Even with an extreme overclock you wouldn't get close to 850W

850W is the perfect size for 7970 or 7950 crossfire even when overclocking.

The load power consumption is about on par with GTX570, which is recommended to have 850W for SLI solutions.

850w is easily enough, even 750w would be enough i think.

Actually power consumption is alot less than 570 see

I refered to the 7970, which he had listed in the text and not the title.
In either case the 850W is nicely enough.

So my TX850W can support 7970 CF when overclocked, also including CPU overclock?

My Corsair TX850 is not the rev2 i dont think. Just confirming so i dont end up spending another chunk of cash only to realize i have to buy another PSU for another 300$.

Yes, TX850 is enough for 2 7970's and CPU overclock.
