A few years ago I was so excited to get a TV tuner card but I never got a desktop.. I imagined streaming hours and hours of cable content onto my hard drive to keep forever... but nowadays with youtube, tons of places to stream stuff, direct downloads etc.. not to mention not much on TV.. is there a good reason to have a TV tuner card?

well you can use them for video capture

i use mine for my cctv camera and also to transfer video tapes from vhs to dvd

Yea, that too.
Streaming services is good.
But you can always switch to the tv card to watch local news and stuff that the streamers dont have like premium channels...
