Hi there, I noticed that with a gtx 580 in 3 way SLI, some games have a preformance drop and actually run better in a 2 way configuration. If I have a 3 way configuration, is it possible to disable a card to make it run 2 way without physcially removing a card?

I believe there is an option. Try going into the Device Manager and disabling the card you don't want to use.

Just change out the jumper from the 3 way to a 2 way. I am talking about the flat ribbon cable that connects to all three cards. Then you can use the 3rd card for Physx or just an independent GPU. I hope this helps.
